The condenser is another vital part of the air conditioning system. It works in the opposite way to the Evaporator; the heat generated in the system is able to escape as cold air is passed over and through the condensers fins and tubes. This returns the refrigerant to a cool high pressured liquid that is forced out of the receiver dryer and back into use extracting heat from the cabin.
To maximize its effectiveness, the condenser is positioned at the front of the vehicle behind the fan. This however, can leave it susceptible to damage from corrosion and debris from the road. Four Seasons UK recommend that the condenser is check regularly on service in case of damage.
